Step1: Okta Account Activation
You will receive an email from Okta inviting you to activate your Okta account.
Click on the black Activate Okta Account button to start the activation process.
NOTE: You will need to have your mobile device with the Duo app installed handy to set up the multi-factor authenticator.
NOTE: You have 7 days from when the email was sent to you to activate your account. Please contact IT at [email protected] if the link expires before you complete the setup.
Fill out the form to set up your Okta account. Click Create My Account to continue.
NOTE: Your Okta password is the same as your Windows password.
Step 2: Connect to your Duo Account
The next step is to set up Duo for your Okta account. Click Setup to continue.
NOTE: Please have your mobile device or method that you typically use for Duo when logging onto your computer ready.
An authentication to Duo will be sent. Depending on the method you have configured for your account, respond to the Duo authentication verification.
SPECIAL NOTE: If you are asked to start a set up (see image), this means that Okta wasn’t able to find your Duo account.
It is ok to continue, following the prompts, but please send a request to [email protected] with the device phone # you used and your Windows logon (e.g., jsmith) so that we can investigate.
Step 3: Final Touches
When successfully logged in and authenticated, you will see a dashboard similar to the following (actual apps will vary depending on job function):
Click a tile to launch – it should automatically log on for you.
Okta Browser Extension
It is recommended to have the Okta browser extension installed.
You may have to submit a request to [email protected] if the extension is not already in your browser.
Once installed, you can opt to add logins to websites you frequent to build your custom landing page or portal.
NOTE: IT support cannot modify or see logons you have added to your Okta portal.
