Encrypting Outgoing Mail

Modified on Thu, May 2 at 11:35 AM

The mail system can encrypt outgoing mail to protect the contents in transit.

NOTE: Encryption MUST be used if you are sending sensitive information, such as a social security number, to another recipient.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

How to Encrypt

Add the word encrypt to the subject.  This will encrypt the message.

What Recipients See

Recipients will receive an email from noreply@barracuda.com with a subject that says You have a new encrypted message from email@iupat.org.  You may want to let your recipients know to expect this email as it will not appear to come from you.

They will need to click on the click here link to view the message.  They may be asked to create an account and set a password if this is the first time they have received an encrypted message from you.

Once they log in to Barracuda, they will be able to view the message and act on it (print, reply, download).
