(Membership) How to Create a New Distribution List

Open the Distribution Lists folder () under Membership > Communicate


 

 

Distribution Lists are dynamic lists that capture specific information pertaining to members in your organization. With this tool you can create Lists of org. members that match certain criteria (e.g. Active members, Apprentices, members working for a particular Employer, etc.)


Click the New Distribution List button at the top of the page. Give your Distribution List a Name. New Filter selections will then become available.

In the New Filter section: select all filters that are applicable to the information you wish to produce on your list. Start with the Related Table list. This will allow you to select what area of the UNITE platform you wish to pull the information from. The available options include:

  • Member Roster (All current Organization Members)
  • Position
  • Voter
  • Custom Fields
  • Communications

Select all filters that you wish to apply to your Distribution List from the corresponding drop-down list options. Each Selection should have an end-value associated to the information filter. Click the + Save Distribution List button when finished. The New Distribution list will automatically load the list information at the bottom of the page.


 

The applied filters will produce a list of all current Apprentices in the organization, which will be displayed at the bottom of the page.



You can now add new filter-selections that you wish to further-narrow your Distribution List.

 


 

The applied filters (pictured below) will produce a list of Active Apprentices in the Organization.



The new Distribution List will again be displayed at the bottom of the page.

 


 

 

You can now apply these Distribution Lists to:

  • Create new Communications (Text message/ Email)
    • Send Messages only to Members from your new Distribution List
    • Open the Communications Folder () under Membership > Communicate
    • In the Communications window, select the button in the top-right corner

 


  • Organization Member Roster
    • View all Organization Members that match the filters from your Distribution List
    • Open the Roster Folder () under Membership > Connect

 



  • Send a Letter to Members from your Distribution List
    • Open the Letters folder () under Membership> Communicate
    • Click the button in the top-right side of the page
    • Select your Distribution List and check the box beside each member you wish to send the Letter to from your Distribution List. Select the top checkbox to include all from your Distribution List.


  • Create a batch of Print Labels for all Members in your Distribution List
    • Open the Mailing Labels folder () under Membership > Communicate
    • Select your Distribution List
    • Click the appropriate Avery Label Type you will be printing on and select the
    • Start on Label, then click the Run Report button
    • Print, e-mail, or export the report as necessary

 

  • Print a PDF doc of your Distribution List in the Roster Directory
    • Open the Roster Directory folder () under Membership > Connect
    • Select your Distribution List
    • Click the Run Report button. The PDF will load at the bottom of the page.
    • You can download or Print the document from this page
